Postdoctoral Fellow:
Progenitor Cell Approaches in The Treatment of Recurrent Vascular Disease
The Tillman Lab at the University of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for postdoctoral fellowship from qualified Ph.D. or M.D. graduates interested in stem cell approaches for the treatment of recurrent vascular disease. The primary research direction is the prevention of late graft failure by intervention at the progenitor cell level after endovascular and open surgical procedures.
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in a biological field and peer reviewed publications in an English language journal. Required skills of the applicant will include experience in cell culture, confocal microscopy, and basic protein assays. Experience with either flow cytometry and/or murine models would be essential.The postdoctoral candidate would complement the existing strengths of our laboratory that include rapid translation of new technologies into pre-clinical and translational applications for vascular disease. The applicant is expected to be self motivated and able to work independently. Willingness to work in a highly interdisciplinary research environment is expected. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
