A postdoctoral position is available at the Inserm-UPMC research unit 956, « Génétique, Pharmacologie et Physiopathologie des Maladies Cardiovasculaires », Faculté de Médecine Pierre et Marie Curie, Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière (Paris).

The candidate must have a PhD and a strong background in electrophysiology and either cell biology or molecular biology. Previous experience in the field of cardiac arrhythmias or murine models will be an important asset.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary group working on the “genetics and physiopathology of hereditary cardiac diseases”. He/she will be expected to conduct a research project on the in vivo consequences of mutations in a new mouse model of a sodium channelopathy, using AAV vectors and protein trans-splicing, and will participate in the identification of protein partners for the cardiac sodium channel. The personnel and laboratory at the Pitié-Salpêtrière, in combination with the small animal facility, have the equipment and technical knowledge required to enable the candidate to perform this project.

He/she will be welcome to develop his/her own line of research in the future and to apply for a French academic position.

This position has been funded by an FRM grant for a period of 3 years beginning as soon as possible. The salary will be between 30 000 to 35 000€ annual gross, depending on experience.
