日本北海道大学分子影像博士后职位
job description
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in Dr. Hiroshi Hirata’s group, studying advanced technologies of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) imaging for biomedical applications. His research program aims to develop magnetic resonance-based techniques for enentioselective molecular imaging. This position is supported by the NEXT program of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and is a year-term position, renewable until March 2014. A successful candidate will be involved in technological developments of simultaneous EPR-based molecular imaging, such as EPR scanner’s hardware, data acquisition software, and image reconstruction software (Anal. Chem. vol. 81, pp. 7501-7506, 2009; Chem. Commun. vol. 47, pp. 3245-3247, 2011). EPR imaging of mice are also planed in this program (pH and pO2 visualization in tumor model animals). A Ph.D. in related fields (applied physics, chemistry, and engineering) and a record of productive research experience in magnetic resonance studies are required. Experiences with National Instruments LabVIEW, ITT Visual Information Solutions IDL, and MathWorks’s MATLAB are preferred. Good communication skills in English are essential. There are several EPR spectrometers in the laboratory, a JEOL’s X-band CW-EPR spectrometer, a laboratory-built 1.1-GHz CW-EPR spectrometer, a laboratory-built 750-MHz CW-EPR spectrometer/imager, and a laboratory -built 300-MHz CW-EPR spectrometer/imager. In the NMR facility of Hokkaido University, a Varian 7T-MRI is available for small-animal imaging studies. A current curriculum vitae including a full list of publications, a brief statement of research interests, and names of two references, should be sent to Dr. Hiroshi Hirata, Professor, Division of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University, North 14, West 9, Kita-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0814, Japan, or e-mail: hhirata@ist.hokudai.ac.jp (subject: NEXT Postdoctoral Position).
Hokkaido University is one of the top research-oriented universities in Japan. Hokkaido University is located in the heart of Sapporo, the capital city of Hokkaido. Sapporo has a population of approximately 2 million people, and is the biggest city in northern Japan. Sapporo is known as a very beautiful city, and is regarded as one of the most livable cities in Japan. In the downtown of Sapporo, convenient public transportation services are available, including subway, bus, and tram.
