Post-doctoral position opening: February-March 2012
The project and post-doctoral position are funded by the French national Agency for Research (ANR) for a period of 12 months extendable up to 24 months. The candidate will participate to the development of new delivery systems based on hybrid nanoparticles composed of lipids and iron oxide nanocrystals. The aim of this project is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases according to a double-targeting strategy. The novelty comes from the combination of physical targeting, using magnetic guidance, and biochemical targeting, through innovative bioconjugates grafted onto the carrier surface. Moreover the achieved nanosystems will serve not only as reservoirs for drug delivery but also as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The work will be the fruit of a tight collaboration between chemists, physical-chemists and biologists belonging to the Laboratory of Excellence in Research on Medication and Innovative Therapeutics (LERMIT).

Required expertise: bioconjugate chemistry and characterization, surface plasmon resonance and/or quartz-crystal microbalance, surface-modified colloids, cell biology.
Optional additional experience: animal experimentation, MRI, magnetic targeting.
Field: biochemistry and biophysics applied to multifunctional nanotechnologies for the specific delivery of drugs; therapy of pulmonary hypertension, atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease.
