Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Fumika Hamada at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology. We aim to understand the molecular and neural mechanisms of temperature sensation and circadian rhythms using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. We use a combination of fly behavior, genetic and physiological approaches in order to analyze neural circuit development. The laboratory is looking for an energetic, highly motivated and creative individual who is eager to explore challenging research. Prior experience in neurobiology and/or Drosophila genetics is preferred but not necessary.
