The Clinical Sciences Centre is an Institute of the Medical Research Council, based at the Hammersmith Campus, with close links to Imperial College, London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The CSC (http://www.csc.mrc.ac.uk/) provides a thriving environment for fundamental research and has state-of-the-art equipment.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral scientist in the group of Luis Aragon (http://www.aragonlab.com/) to work on several ongoing programmes aimed at dissecting mechanisms underlying chromosome structure and segregation (Baxter et al. 2011, Science, 331, 1328-1332; Clemente-Blanco et al. 2011 Nature Cell Biology 13, 1450-1456; Clemente-Blanco et al. 2009, Nature 458, 219-222).

Candidates should have a PhD in a biological subject (or due to complete doctoral studies within 3 months of applying). Experience in any of the following research fields is desirable: DNA topology and Chromatin Biochemistry, Cell Cycle regulation, Chromosome Biology, DNA Replication and Repair and functional analysis of protein modifications.

The successful candidate will be awarded a 3-year MRC Career Development Fellowship, which is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
