We are seeking a self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic scientist to work on the following project: “Novel Mechanisms involved in Neurodegeneration” within the Department of Pharmacology. This is a full-time post and is available as soon as possible for 12 months in the first instance.

The research group is led by Prof. Susan Greenfield. The project focuses on novel mechanisms of neurodegeneration, in particular the role of acetylcholinesterase C-terminal peptides responsible for non-hydrolytic actions of AChE.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in biochemistry, pharmacology or a related biological discipline including organic chemistry. Experience is required in the following techniques: HPLC, mass spectrometry, detection systems and in general assays of biological fluids. The applicant should also have excellent writing and communication skills, with proven data-management experience.
