意大利癌症研究与治疗中心博士后职位
job description
INSTITUTE FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND TREATMENT
Laboratory of Pharmacogenomics
Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (IRCC), Candiolo, Turin, Italy
Post A. Research Fellow
Applications are invited for a three-year-postdoctoral fellowship funded by FPRC Onlus to carry out cutting edge, multidisciplinary research in the newly established laboratory of Pharmacogenomics. The laboratory aims to study genetic and epigenetic changes occurring during cancer cell response to therapies, focusing initially on those drugs for which a clear genetic mechanism has not been found so far.
The main initial challenge will be to investigate the role of specific cancer mutations involved in epigenetic modifications and chromatin remodelling. The hypothesis that somatic alterations in genes involved in chromatin remodelling would be major determinants of prognosis or prediction to response/resistance to selected anticancer therapies will also be tested.
We are now looking for a bright, enthusiastic research fellow with expertise in bioinformatics, epigenetics and/or next generation sequencing technologies. Applicants should have recently obtained a PhD or should expect to obtain a PhD in the near future, and will preferably have also some experience in cell and/or molecular biology. The successful applicant will have an outstanding academic track record and ideally he/she would have published at least one first authored paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
Post B. Research Assistant
Applications are invited for a three-year-predoctoral fellowship to carry out cutting edge, multidisciplinary research in the newly established laboratory of Pharmacogenomics. The post is funded by AIRC (the Italian Association for Cancer Research) to assess the role of specific PIK3CA oncogenic mutations in response to targeted therapies.
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic junior research fellow with a specific interest in biochemistry and cancer pharmacology. Applicants should have recently obtained an MSc (or equivalent) and will have some experience in basic laboratory techniques. Opportunities exist for highly motivated and talented fellows wishing to enrol in our PhD courses.
For both positions, research will be carried out at the IRCC, in an informal environment with easy access to the Alps and local attractions. The IRCC is a major international centre for research on basic and translational oncology. For further information consult the website: http://www.ircc.it/basicresearch/index.html/.
Applications for the above positions should be sent by e-mail to Dr Federica Di Nicolantonio (http://www.ircc.it/people/home/home.html?user=Federica%20Di%20Nicolantonio). Please include a CV and contact details for two references.
Closing date: 31 January 2012
But note that these posts may close early if there are high numbers of applications so candidates are advised not to delay in applying.
