An EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position is available to carry out computational studies of "nano-ionic" materials for potential clean energy applications within the materials chemistry group of Professor Saiful Islam.
The research project will involve the use of potential-based atomistic modelling and DFT techniques in the study of  ion diffusion, surfaces and nano-structures of novel oxide materials. This work will link up with collaborative experimental and simulation studies of Prof P. Bruce (St-Andrews), Prof C. Grey (Cambridge), Prof P. Madden (Oxford) and Dr S. Hull (RAL), as part of an EPSRC Programme grant on "Nano-ionics".
Previous experience in solid-state chemistry/materials science and computational techniques is essential.
