Salary: £27,428 - £35,788 pa
Limit of tenure: position is available from April 2012 for up to five years.
A post-doctoral research associate position is available from April 2012 for up to five years to work with Professor Tim Clutton-Brock on the ecology of development and its relation to reproductive strategies and life history variation in cooperative mammals. The research will use a combination of long-term records of individual life histories, field experiments and modelling to investigate adaptive aspects of development, reproductive suppression and reproductive strategies in meerkats. The project will be based in Cambridge but will involve fieldwork in the South African Kalahari.
The successful candidates should be capable of working independently within the framework of an interactive research group. Previous experience of research using long-term individual-based data sets is desirable. Enthusiasm, determination and the capacity to work independently are essential.
