Applications are sought for a post-doctoral research assistant to join a team investigating the role of MSH6 deficiency in temozolomide resistant glioblastomas. The successful applicant will be involved in identifying new therapeutic targets for glioblastomas. The postholder will carry out RNAi and compound screens followed by mechanistic analysis of identified hits and in vivo work. The research will largely be based in the Centre for Molecular Oncology at Charterhouse Square but will involve close collaboration with Prof. Silvia Marino in the Centre for Neuroscience and Trauma in the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science, Whitechapel.
Essential requirements for this post include a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject and previous experience in molecular biology. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential. Previous experience in RNAi screening and animal work would be advantageous.
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment (35 hours per week) for 3 years. Appointment will be made on the Research Grade 4 scale, £33,794 – £35,674 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance), depending on experience.
