Job Description

Essential Functions:
An opportunity is available for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Renal Division, Department of Medicine. The main focus of the ongoing research is to understand molecular mechanisms of the glomerular filtration barrier and proteinuria. We are very interested in studying the crosstalk between endothelial cells and podocytes in the pathogenesis of proteinuric glomerular diseases. The approaches we take range from mammalian cell culture, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry to mouse genetics. Other areas of interest include endoplasmic reticulum stress in the proteinuric kidney disease.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D degree. Experience in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field is required. Candidates who have experience in making transgenic or knockout mice or who have strong background in molecular biology or biochemistry are highly preferred. If you are a U.S citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible for NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) T32 postdoctoral training grant.

Department Summary:
Our lab is located at the Wohl Clinic Building in the Medical School Campus. The research environment is outstanding.

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
