法国里昂国际癌症研究中心博士后招聘
job description
Postdoctoral Opportunity
SECTION OF NUTRITION AND METABOLISM / BIOMARKERS GROUP – IARC/WHO, Lyon, France
The main research objectives of the Biomarkers Group are to develop new approaches to identify, validate and implement biomarkers, in order to better understand the relationship of nutrition and other environmental and lifestyle factors with carcinogenesis. Metabolomic approaches based on mass spectrometry methods are developed to discover new biomarkers of food consumption and exposure to environmental risk factors including food contaminants in blood and urine samples. Specific and highly sensitive methods including mass spectrometry are developed to estimate these biomarkers in large epidemiological studies.
A postdoctoral opportunity is immediately available within the Group to develop metabolomic methodologies based on high performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry. These methods will be applied in epidemiological studies to discover new biomarkers of exposure related to cancer risk. The postdoctoral fellow will work in an innovative, well-equipped and scientifically stimulating environment. The project proposed is part of national and international studies involving leading research groups in the fields of nutritigenomics and cancer epidemiology and funded by the European Project EurocanPlatform (http://www.eurocanplatform.eu/).
Candidates with a solid background in chemistry or biology, experience in the field of metabolomics and a good knowledge of English are strongly encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have strong bench skills for sample preparation and analysis, data evaluation and biological interpretation of measurement results.
This postdoctoral opportunity is initially for one year with possibility of renewal for two further years, and is suitable for candidates who have completed a Ph.D., or who have acquired equivalent training.
The IARC postdoctoral stipend is currently €2700 per month. The cost of travel for the Fellow, and in certain circumstances for dependants, will be met, a dependant’s allowance paid, and health insurance covered.
Interested candidates are invited to contact Dr Scalbert with informal enquiries (email: scalberta@iarc.fr).
Applicants should send a CV, including list of publications and a description of previous research experience, as well as the names and addresses of two academic referees, to:
