Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Metabolic Modelling
Starting salary: £24,370, rising annually to £ 26,629
Ref: 370/18134/BC

This is a fixed-term appointment for 18 months.

You will be responsible for:

- developing computer simulations of CO2 diffusion and metabolism in algal and plant cells to investigate potential carbon concentrating mechanisms
- working collaboratively with both the Cell Systems Modelling Group at Oxford Brookes University and the other project partners of the BBSRC/NSF funded project
- presenting your results informally to colleagues, orally and in writing to the project’s funding agencies, to scientific meetings and in journal articles.

You should have:

- a PhD in biology or computing
- research experience in computational, mathematical or systems biology
- experience of scientific computing
- the ability to program
- the ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative
- good communication skills, both written and spoken.
