FIMM is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher

*Description: *
The Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) is an international research institute, built on molecular medicine research, a Technology Centre, and a Biobank focusing on building a bridge from discovery to medical applications. To this end, FIMM research groups investigate molecular mechanisms of disease using genomics and medical systems biology in order to promote human health. As a multi-disciplinary institute, FIMM combines high-quality science with unique patient materials and state-of-the-art technologies advancing the fields of human genomics, medical systems biology, and translation research, including personalized medicine.

We currently have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemical Biology unit of the FIMM Technology Centre and Wennerberg research group. The primary role for this researcher will be to contribute to the planning for a European chemical biology infrastructure network (EU-OPENSCREEN, www.eu-openscreen.eu) and its links the Finnish national Drug Discovery and Chemical Biology infrastructure platform (DDCB, www.ddcb.fi). Specific tasks involve coordinating the Technology Resources work package within EU-OPENSCREEN, developing the plan for Finland’s future role in this network and how the efforts should be linked to the existing national DDCB platform, and contributions to the scientific platform of the Chemical Biology unit.

*Qualification and experience: *
Qualification requirements include a PhD, proven research experience in cell, molecular, or chemical biology or drug discovery, and a strong publication track record. A demonstrated interest and experience in high throughput screening and research technologies is valued, but not required. The successful candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated with excellent scientific, problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. In addition, the candidate should be fluent in English, have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, a service-minded attitude, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

*Salary & contract: *
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications based on the University salary system. A contract will be offered initially through October 2013 with the possibility for extension pending funding.
