Job Description

Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) is a newly established private, not-for-profit university located in Al Khobar, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. It is the first private institution of higher learning in the Eastern Province, licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education. PMU opened its doors in September 2006 and graduated its first class of 400 students in 2011. Western in character but distinctively Saudi, its programs are built around competitive admissions standards, instruction in English, and pedagogies aimed at critical thinking and problem-solving; its 3,100 students, half male and half female, all educated to attain a high level of distinction. The University offers undergraduate programs as well as an Executive MBA.

PMU is growing at a rapid rate and seeks to fill multiple faculty positions. Although PMU is seeking to fill numerous faculty positions, the immediate priority is to recruit female faculty to teach in PMU’s Women’s College. An intensive recruiting process for male faculty will commence in the next few months. Please note that these positions are restricted to United States and Canadian citizens who have studied at accredited North American institutions.

• College of Arts and Sciences
• College of Business
• College of Engineering
• College of Computer Engineering and Sciences
ABOUT THE SEARCH

The University offers a highly competitive expatriate package with a generous salary and benefits. Please note that only American and Canadian citizens who have studied at accredited North American universities will be considered for faculty positions.

Given the time pressures it faces, the search consultant is interested in talking with nominators and potential candidates right away. There is an urgency to have academic professionals in a position to begin work in PMU sooner rather than later, ideally at the beginning of the spring semester which starts at the end of February 2012.
