job description
A postdoctoral associate position is available in the lab of Dr. William “Jamie” Tyler. Projects in the lab focus on understanding and modulating synaptic transmission and plasticity. We implement a variety of experimental systems spanning primary culture, slice culture, acute slice, in vivo rodent, and human models. Through a portion of our studies, we have developed novel methods for modulating intact brain circuit activity using pulsed ultrasound. Ongoing research efforts in our lab are aimed at studying the influence of pulsed ultrasound on synaptic transmission and plasticity in both normal and diseased model systems. There are two openings for postdoctoral research associates to join our team efforts.

Extensive experience in cellular and systems neuroscience. Must be capable of exploiting modern neuroscience tools including optical microscopy (confocal, two-photon, fiber optic, etc.) and electrophysiology (whole-cell and/or extracellular multi-electrode arrays) to study circuit level brain plasticity in rodent models including cell culture, acute brain slice, and in vivo rodent preparations.
