Molecular and Cellular Biology / Tumorigenesis
A postdoctoral position is available in the Genetics and Endocrinology Section, Metabolic Diseases Branch, NIDDK, to study the molecular mechanisms associated with endocrine tumorigenesis. The current efforts in the laboratory are focused on the role of cell cycle regulators and transcription regulators in the initiation and/or progression of pancreatic beta cell neoplasia. Some of the experimental approaches used are: RNA and protein profiling, chromatin immunoprecipitation, protein-protein interaction, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, one- and two-hybrid assays, and reporter assays.
Applicants must be highly motivated with less than 3 years of relevant post-Ph.D. research experience, with demonstrated interest and skills for conducting experiments involving cell cycle regulation, protein interactions, epigenetics, and mouse models. Good English speaking and written communication skills are essential.
