The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center

Announces its opening and first call for research applications
SESYNC is the newest NSF-funded national synthesis center, hosting researchers to integrate diverse forms of information, data, and models to inspire novel research and provide innovative solutions to socio-environmental problems. Through its diverse programs, the Center invites researchers from across the globe to work on-site at the SESYNC headquarters in Annapolis.
Applications are invited from social, natural and computational scientists for support through one of SESYNC’s programs: Thematic Pursuits, Ventures, Workshops, Socio-environmental Education, Short-courses, Policy & Practice Fellows, Postdoctoral Fellows, and Sabbatical or Research Fellows.
Postdoctoral and Sabbatical/Research Fellowships
Researchers with expertise and ideas to employ integrative, analytical, computational, or informatic approaches focused on the structure, functioning, and sustainability of socio-environmental systems are invited to apply. Applicants may have received their PhD in ANY relevant area of research including anthropology, ecology, economics, education, geography, mathematics, statistics, computer science, political science, public policy, planning, etc. Postdoctoral positions are for 2 years and sabbatical/research fellows for 2-12 months.
