job description

Postdoctoral Research Associates and PhD positions

Two Postdoctoral Research Associates and PhD positions in Silicon Quantum Computation and Scanning Probe Microscopy in one of the world’s great cities.

The Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology is a high-profile, international research centre headquartered in Sydney, developing technology that has the potential to revolutionise computing and communications worldwide. Headed by Scientia Professor Michelle Simmons FAA, its pioneering research in single atom electronics and solid state silicon quantum computation is world-leading.

It now seeks exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associates in two areas:

Silicon Quantum Computation – where candidates with a strong determination to make their mark in the study of quantum spin effects in semiconductor devices are encouraged to apply; and

Scanning Probe Microscopy – where technically talented candidates with an ambition to create atomic-scale devices in silicon via high resolution STM-lithography are encouraged to apply

In addition to an outstanding academic record, candidates should possess the enthusiasm, ambition, and cultural sensibilities to contribute as part of a vibrant and highly international team.

PhD Scholarships covering either tuition fees and/or living expenses are also available for exceptional candidates.
