We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on structural and dynamical investigations of membranes and membrane components in solution, using primarily neutron scattering, NMR and computer simulation techniques. This project will use several techniques in concert and is suitable for an enthusiastic researcher who is interested in applying both experimental and simulation techniques to understand how membranes and their protein and lipid components give rise to their life-giving functions.
Applicants should possess PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, physics or a related discipline and should have suitable relevant experience. Previous experience in neutron scattering, particularly in diffraction techniques on solutions, or computer simulations will be an advantage.
This full-time position is funded by the EPSRC for up to 3 years and is based in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford under the direct supervision of Dr Sylvia McLain.
