英国医学研究理事会病毒学博士后招聘
job description
MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR)
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Influenza Viruses and Ubiquitin Signalling
Salary: Grade 7 £31,798 – £35,788 per annum
The Centre for Virus Research (CVR) (http://www.cvr.ac.uk/) is a unique international research centre with a critical mass of researchers dedicated to the multidisciplinary study of human and animal viruses. The CVR represents a partnership between the Medical Research Council, UK and the University of Glasgow, UK. It has allowed the integration of research groups from the University of Glasgow and the MRC Virology Unit under a single management umbrella. In due course, the CVR will be located in a new state-of-the-art research building in the Garscube campus of the University of Glasgow.
An exciting opportunity exists for a postdoctoral research associate to join a new Influenza and Respiratory Viruses programme within the CVR. The successful candidate will work on a project focussed on understanding the interaction of human, swine, and avian influenza viruses with components of the cellular ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like modification systems. The laboratory benefits from the integrated multidisciplinary environment of the CVR, and closely interacts with other virology research groups whose interests span from the molecular to population level.
The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject, and experience in virology and/or cell signalling. Applications are welcome from those with a background in the ubiquitin field who wish to apply their skills to a different area of biology.
