An enthusiastic postdoc who is interested in unravelling the interactions between host, microbiota and feed in the intestine of food producing animals. The ideal candidate would have a background in systems biology and bioinformatics, and some background in genetics and immunology. The candidate should have a strong track record as a PhD student or young postdoc and show a keen and independent intellect. Preferentially the candidate should have experience in research regarding the functionality and health of the gastro intestinal tract. The candidate will work in a team of molecular biologists and nutritionists and in close collaboration with immunologists of the Central Veterinary Institute. The ultimate goal of the work is improved understanding of the variation in intestinal health and functionality of food producing animals and to develop tools an models applicable to selective breeding, nutrition, and optimized management. For the candidate it is particular important to publish the results in scientific literature, but also to set up the dialog with the end users in the industry.
We ask
An PhD with expertise in multi-variant analyses, in bioinformatics, and system biology approaches. The candidate should be a team player, while a thorough background in handling and analysing -omics data is considered to be of additional value, and a proven track record in publishing in scientific literature and communicating about his results to a broader public.
