Postdoctoral Research Positions

The Reynolds Oklahoma Center on Aging (ROCA; https://www.ouhsc.edu/roca/OurPeople.aspx) at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center (OUHSC) and the Oklahoma Geroscience Training Program are seeking Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join a multidisciplinary team of investigators working in the areas of neurobiology, metabolism, inflammation, sex differences, and interventional strategies aimed at compressing morbidity and extending lifespan. Multiple postdoctoral fellowship positions are available within the following research areas: (1) hypothalamic control of systemic metabolism, (2) sex chromosome and hormone effects on aging mechanisms, (3) epigenetics of aging, (4) neuronal and astrocyte resilience to amyloid beta, (5) resilience to age-related stressors and disease risk, and (6) age-related diseases of the visual system.

Our group is highly collaborative and includes NIH-funded investigators from ROCA and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) Aging & Metabolism Program. Aging research (Geroscience) is a thematic priority for OUHSC and the program has grown dramatically in recent years through the addition of new faculty, the Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging (https://aging.ouhsc.edu), and the Geroscience Training Program (T32). Postdoctoral fellows also have opportunities to apply for independent funding through a variety of programs across campus.

We are seeking innovative, collaborative, and highly motivated candidates who can work independently but also with other investigators of varied training experience. Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, or related field. Previous experience with generating rodent models, working with culture systems, and writing manuscripts are preferred. These positions are remunerated according to NIH guidelines and are eligible for university benefits. To apply, please email a cover letter summarizing your experience, research interests, and career goals, along with your CV and contact information for three references to Geroscience-PostDoc@ouhsc.edu. The positions will remain open until filled.
